Small Groups at The Table
Table Small Groups: intentional communities founded on the truth of God that transforms us and the world.
At The Table, we believe small groups are one of the best ways to experience community, accountability, and growth in faith. Small groups revolve around four values: telling four stories (life and daily), praying together, using/studying Scripture, and DOing life with one another (to take small groups to the next relational level).
Sign up for groups for men, women, and couples (engaged, married, families) by emailing Ashley at ashleyb@cpconline.org.

MISSIONAL SMALL GROUPS
Our mission for small groups at The Table is that you would engage in an intentional life with God and others that makes a difference in the world. We ask that you stay committed to your small group for at least one semester, with an option to leave/switch groups in the winter.
BOOK STUDY
We are encouraging all groups this year to work through Scott Boren's book Missional Small Groups to start some practical and thoughtful conversation around missional living. A free 13-week study guide to compliment the book is available here for download or found after Table services in the Great Room.
Book Description
Small groups are a great place to connect with other churchgoers, but many wonder, is this all there is? Is sitting in a living room, talking about a book or watching a video the extent of what we can do together? Isn't being a Christian community about something more than this?
Pastor and author Scott Boren thinks so. In this latest release from missional thinktank Allelon, Boren gives leaders and members of small groups the tools they need to make an impact on their communities. Beginning with a gentle critique of current small group models, Boren goes on to show how a uniquely Christian paradigm can set groups free to transform their communities. The final section of the book offers over 20 practices that groups can do to become more missional.
Ultimately Missional Small Groups is about helping groups follow Jesus by equipping them to bring His message and healing to a hurting world.

WHAT SMALL GROUPS AT THE TABLE ARE ABOUT
In Acts, we read about believers being one in heart and mind. That's exciting. At The Table, we believe it will take lots of stories, Scripture, prayer, and DOing life to begin to love God and love others well. Our vision for small groups is that they will become active communities working towards loving God and others. We have identified four values for Table small groups to embrace:
STORIES: We need to share our stories, hear one another’s stories, and begin to understand the role that we play in God's story. Stories are what connect us to one another. Go beyond studying something and start to understand relate to one another. Stories will help us do this well.
SCRIPTURE: What unites us together is that we are a body of believers that is founded on the truths of the Bible. Come together and understand the story of God, and learn how we can ultimately become more like Jesus. In whatever fashion your groups wants to, figure out how to read and understand Scripture together.
PRAYER: Jesus prayed and that's reason enough alone to devote time together to pray. Prayer is how we talk to God, it's how we confess, how we dream, and how we relate. As a group, pray together and witness the power of God.
DOing: The only way groups are going to become "missional" is by first just becoming friends. Spend time with each other. From a place of friendship, we can begin trust and then we can really start to DO life with one another and go beyond ourselves. We can come to one another in the places of our lives we celebrate and mourn. We can start to learn about who has what needs around us, and begin to meet those needs. We can become DOers in the name of God. We can be the salt of the earth.
